If you want to close the function, please disable the option "Use the HST technology to accelerate the encoding speed" in the setup window manually.

  3. Can Open DVD ripper 2 detect DVDs automatically?

  5. Can I just save my preferred clips only from the video file and remove the unnecessary borders of the screen?
    Yes, you can. Please just click  in the Video Magician window. You can save your preferred clips by setting the starting time and ending time. And then click  to remove your unwanted borders from the screen by setting the values of Left, Top, Width and Height.


  6. Can I add watermarks into my video file?
    Yes, you can. Please just click  or  in the Video Magician window. You can add your desired text and image watermarks from hard drive to anywhere on the screen by setting the parameter.

  7. Can you recommend some file formats for common media devices?
    Below are the recommended file formats used on the common devices:

If you just want to back up the DVD to the computer, AVI is suggested. Because the default values of AVI can provide a relatively good quality as well as smaller output size.

  11. How to adjust the profile setting of the converted video and audio files and can I save my adjustment of the values?
    Normally, the default setting provided by Open DVD ripper 2 is quite proper when you select a target format. Of course you can adjust the settings manually. Just click  and you can adjust the default values of the converted video and audio files as you want. After the settings, you can click "Save As" in the Profile window to create your own profile. Then you can change the default name and comment manually to ensure a direct use next time.

  12. What kinds of resolution can I choose for the converted video file if I have a Zune?
    You can choose from 320*240, 480*272 and 800*480 for Zune compatible formats.

  13. How can I know how much time needed to convert a DVD movie?
    During the converting process, you can see the Time Elapsed and Time Left in the converting process window. And the Time Left is what you want. It offers you the convenience to monitor the ripping process.

  14. After the ripping is done, my computer will shut down automatically, why?
    This function of Open DVD ripper 2 is provided to spare the users from sitting in front of the computer waiting for the ripping to finish. Of course if you don't want it to work this way, you can disable the option "Shut down the computer when the conversion is finished" both in the Setup and Conversion Info window.
